30-8MM REMINGTON MAGNUM
The following data was developed in a rifle based on the HALL Giant action. It has a 29-inch SS heavy barrel. The whole rifle weighs 25 pounds. It is chambered for a wildcat cartridge based on the 8mm Remington magnum case. The case has very little taper and a relatively short tight neck. The barrel is from HART and the rifle was made by Dwight Scott.
Remington 8mm magnum brass and Federal 215 primers used throughout.
I found that the RUBRIGHT bullets that shot so well in this rifle tended to disintegrate above a certain velocity level. 3900 fps for the 135-grain bullets and 3600 fps for the 150 grain should be considered maximum.
All groups are 5 shots at 100 yards.
