A Safari In The Moyowosi And Masailand

Part III

If you look carefu7lly, you can see that some of the zebra have a brown spot just above their nose. Some don't.

This crow was a frequent visitor to our camp. Rene took this photo of him. Rene should also be credited with many other photos displayed on this report.

Washing hands in the gut content of the buffalo.

I think Roy is contemplating how he was going to get off the truck, as the driver seems to have a talent for stopping right next to a thorn bush, or a tree!

I took these photos of the vultures as they waited for a meal, after we had shot a buffalo on the plains.

One of the many varieties of koran we have seen

Walter in his "action man" attire!

Just about to leave in the morning. Of course, it is never too early for a joke!

A couple of views of our sitting and dining tent

Walter bearing gifts. And n o one knows what he might turn up with!

We were driving along when we came across this pride of lions. Sadly, we were not able to fi8nd a mature male while on this hunt.

We saw one herd of topi that could exceed 1,000

Enjoying a few stories at the campfire

Stuck in the middle of the swamp!

We were in an area where there were no Walterable zebra. So Walter had to wait for his, and I had to shoot this one. Just to show him that it wasn't that difficult at all.

Look how white the yoke is in this egg.

Walter is trying his best to show that he is taking plenty of photos!

This is a perfect example of the blind leading the blind! Alan is asking Walter how that GPS works, and Walter said. "You want to know where you are?" Alan said yes. Walter, laughing his head off. "You are standing RIGHT here, next to the truck!" Ha ha ha ha!

Another argument between Walter and Roy, which of course, has no end to it.

A baby topi left behind the herd. His mother came back and lead him away with the herd

Skinning a duiker

We were joking with our game scout, and telling him he looked like a poacher. Walter took his rifle, and stood next to Noel, saying "I am a poacher too!" I think both the game scouts we had and the trackers, were not too sure what is actually going on at any given time.

When I shot the duiker, we noticed that a leave had fallen off a bush between us. We fou7nd that my bullet went through this, cut the leaf, and killed the duiker. Apparently one can shoot through anything "green"!?

Elephant dung, burnt to keep the tse tse flies away. It works too.

A delicious, nutritious, breakfast! And it makes Walter mad that all I eat is one egg on a piece of toast, and can last practically all day without anything! The red stuff is good old Tabasco!

Our sable this year. He looked like he has had quite a fighting past. many injuries were on his body.

Buffalo fillet.

Loading up the sable

Poached elephant. One of several carcasses we have seen. It seems that poaching is rampant, and I suspect it won't be long before we could hardly find any elephants with tusks any more

I bet not many of you would have guessed what this small butterfly is sitting on?

A WART!
