A Safari In The Moyowosi And Masailand

Part II

As most of you know, we normally hunt with our old friends the Vincents. Or as Walter puts is Vincent Version 2! Alan arranged everything for us with TGT. For whom he works.

Ron has flown directly from the US to Dar, Roy and Rene did the same, and me and Walter followed them a day later from Dubai.

Walter at the Emirates First Class Lounge enjoying an ice cream. He said he needed the energy for the flight!

He ordered a snack as soon as he sat.

Lunchtime

I bought an ipad for Roy - as we are trying to get him onto computers, and so far without too much success. I put on some ebooks about Africa. He surprised us all by telling us that he had worked it all out.

He can now actually turn the page on the ipad! Walter, of course, was having a field day teasing him  about it.

More food. More drinks. More nuts. More desert. Walter is in heaven.

He was ready to invite the girls on the flight to come on safari with us. When I vetoed that idea, he said "At least we can have someone to brighten our day instead of looking at Roy every morning!"

At Dar airport, meeting Ron, Roy, Rene, Alan and Wayne.

In our charter flight to camp. The comedy never stopped.

I got the seat in the cockpit

Everyone fell asleep

Waking up to inflight service. Walter will go nowhere without some food

We saw a herd of buffalo on an island in the swamp. We had to cross this wet area to get to them.

Walter found the termites absolutely fascinating. He stayed in that position for hours, watching them going about their business.

Watch Alan's foot, and Walter holding a bottle.

They were playing that game of jumping on the empty bottle to make the top shoot out like a bullet. They were having a contest who shoots furthest than the other. Roy was wondering what sort of nitwits play this game while our trackers were skinning our buffalo

Action man! He got himself an action camera, as you can see strapped to his head. And one video camera in his hand. He also needed some nourishment, hence the sandwich in his mouth.

We followed these bulls for about 12 ks, then managed to shoot this one. We called the truck and Walter came to join us.
